Healthy Foods

When it comes to foods that are advertised as being healthy, you should always read between the lines. There is this one cereal commercial that claims to be healthy. In fact, they mention this "statistic" where they say that studies have shown, kids who ate a bowl of their cereal were able to concentrate in school 90% better than kids who did not have breakfast. Many naive parents who see this commercial will immediately miss what was really said here and become practically brainwashed into thinking that this particular cereal helps kids concentrate. Could it be the fact that the kids had eaten breakfast as opposed to kids who didn't eat breakfast at all? And could it be that not 100% of the kids who ate the "healthy" breakfast couldn't concentrate because of all the grams of sugar they ate that morning caused them to crash and feel tired? It is very possible, in fact it's almost guaranteed, if one parent feeds their child a healthy wholesome breakfast like whole wheat toast with pure organic honey, a bowl of sugarless and preservative-less whole wheat cereal with low fat milk, and perhaps some fresh sliced fruit they will be able to concentrate 100% better than a child who's parent's fed them nothing for breakfast. The child who ate healthier will be able to concentrate 100% better than the child who ate sugary cereal with fatty milk too.

In other words, when searching for healthy foods, read the labels before you buy the,. A company that produces cereal or any other product only cares about one thing - making a profit. They don't care how they have to do this, if they can trick people, they will. Take a look at a cereal label next time you're in the store. Take note of how much one serving size is. It will likely say 1 cup is one serving size. One cup, meaning 1 measuring cup. If you've ever measured out your cereal into one cup, you'll notice there is hardly anything in your bowl. So multiply the number of calories and sugar in that one cup and multiply it by however many cups of cereal you're actually eating. By doing the math and research, you'll see why so many people think they are eating healthy foods when they are actually eating more than the recommended serving size of something that obviously isn't that healthy.

Healthy foods are naturally healthy. This means they weren't cooked up by scientists. They were put on the earth naturally. Fresh fruits and vegetables, lean and protein packed fish, turkey, eggs, and nuts, and whole wheat bread are some of the healthiest foods on the planet. By eating more of these, your overall health will improve, and you don't need to worry about overeating on these, because they are already good for you.
